The chronicler of Middle English narratives returns to the cassette format after 2020’s triple-CD release of The Epic of Beileag. St. George and the Dragon is a shorter work by Chaucerian Myth standards, clocking in around 45 minutes in length, but lacking nothing that we have come to expect from Chaucerian Myth. St. George…is a wonderfully technical display of melody-writing, atypical tonal structures, and, of course, distinguished composition. Never one to shy away from experimenting, Chaucerian Myth has embraced a wide berth of dynamics in this work, incorporating a faster tempo, sudden and evocative chromatic variations in the melodies, and more. For fan of DIM, Fief, etc.
